Continuing Education Requirements
NAR Code of Ethics Requirement
Under NAR policy, between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2012, REALTORS® are required to complete at least 2.5 hours of ethics training. Failure to complete the required ethics training shall be considered in violation of a membership duty and REALTOR® membership shall be suspended until the required training is completed.
If you have taken 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics training online since Jan. 1, 2009, please send a copy of your completion certificate to Kelly via email:

http://www.realtor.org/ You will see the "Take Code of Ethics Training" link in the middle of the home page toward the bottom. You should then choose the Quadrennial REALTOR® Ethics Training Course.
Minnesota Education Requirements
Real Estate Continuing Education
The State of Minnesota requires that all real estate salespersons/brokers complete 30 hours of real estate continuing education during the initial license period and during each succeeding 24-month license period. At least 15 of the 30 credit hours must be completed during the first 12 months of the 24-month licensing period. In addition, each licensed agent must complete at least one hour of training in Agency Law and one hour of training in Fair Housing Law during each license period.
Appraiser Continuing Education
The State of Minnesota requires that all appraisers complete at least 30 classroom hours of instruction for renewal of a license. In addition, each appraiser must complete at least seven hours of training each licensing period in courses in laws or regulations on Standards of Professional Practice.

Didn't Get your Certificate?
Call the Board Office (320.253.7149) to double-check where and when the Certificate was sent. If a Certificate needs to be re-printed the cost is $10.
